Healthcare systems engineering is a hot topic. What are your recommended readings, such as book chapters, good literature review papers, intro articles, tutorials? Recommendation of online resources such as good blogs is also welcomed.

Thank you.

Hi, you should have a look at this book: Hall, Randolph (editor): Patient Flow: Reducing Delay in Healthcare Delivery published by Springer. In general, "patient flow" is an important keyword you should look out for.

Aurelie Thiele has been devoting a considerable portion of her blog to health care topics of late (especially payment systems, financing, etc.).

I just ordered Halvorson's book "Health care reform now!" after reading Thiele's blog and a snippet on Google Preview. Looked super interesting, though non-mainstream.

A good introductory book would be Operations Research and Health Care. It is starting to be old (2004) but a new edition of two books is supposed to come out this summer from what I've heard.
