I had some problems logging in. I have used Google Open ID, but the new or-exchange recognized me as a first time user and asked for a new display name. I tried what I have used 'Chang', but it said it was already taken. I asked a temporary login link, and remove open ID and add it again. Now it works charm.

Same happened to me (twice -- on the beta version, and again when it went live). So I think there's a problem with transferring OpenIDs -- or maybe just OpenIDs from Google.

At first I couldn't find the "temporary login link". Turns out it's on the login page, all the way at bottom. Works now.

I hope that at this point, we have addressed all the issues. In the worst case, the process is:

1) You email me (trick@cmu.edu) 2) I send you your username and password, along with some instructions 3) You log in and link your gmail, openid, other account

So far, that is worked for everyone. Please let me know of any issues.

Please note: We have implemented SSL/TLS on OR Exchange for better security. If this results in any access problems, please let us know.

(Apparently only older) Versions of Firefox now give a certificate warning ("Could not verify this certificate because the issuer is not trusted" - not sure why, though: FF18 doesn't complain about it).

Also, there's a "glitch" in the forwarding logic: The link http://www.or-exchange.com/questions/7425/suitability-of-m... is rewritten as/redirected to https://www.or-exchange.orgquestions/7425/suitability-of-mar...

The Firefox problem is strange. I will look into that.

I have fixed that pesky missing slash in the redirect.

One user has already reported that his OpenID login attempt returned it as an attempt to create a new account (i.e. it was not recognized as associated with the OR Exchange account). I was afraid this would happen -- that an OpenID provider would not consider the https version of an http site to be the same site -- and have not yet found a solution. Meanwhile, I would suggest logging into OR Exchange directly (using the login form) and then reassociate your account with the OpenID provider using User tools -> authentication settings -> Add new provider.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

This fixed the openID google problem for me: forget my password, login through that mail, then add my openID google provider and remove my old google openId provider. Tnx for the hint dwirth :)

For logging in with a password, your user id is generally your first and last name with a space in between them (!). If anyone is having any problems, email me at trick@cmu.edu and I can get you squared away.
