Answers to: Best Solver for a broblem in GAMShttp://www.or-exchange.com/questions/11004/best-solver-for-a-broblem-in-gams
I Have a MIP model, But in my model I have two variables which they have been multiplied each other .So GAMS gives error.
DO anybody know which solver could solve my model? unfortunately, MINLP sets results for all variable zero.
enTue, 06 Jan 2015 06:24:19 -0500Answer by erwinhttp://www.or-exchange.com/questions/11004/best-solver-for-a-broblem-in-gams/11005
Depends. As we know nothing about the model giving any advice is hazardous. Ok, here we go:

Reformulate to MIP if possible

Reformulate to better MINLP (eg add bounds etc)

Solve as MINLP using a few local solvers but use a good starting point

If model is small solve with a few global MINLP solvers
